This past December, the PMI Mass Bay Chapter board met for our 2026 Kickoff, an opportunity for our leadership team to celebrate 2025 and look ahead to the coming year.
Our board members dove deep into the core values of PMI– make it easy, aim higher, be welcoming, embrace curiosity, together we can. This gave our volunteers an opportunity to reflect on each value, assessing which ones stand out in our chapter. Exploring these themes gave our volunteers the chance to reflect on how far we’ve come in 2025 and discuss how we plan to continue to reinforce the core values of PMI, from smaller gatherings to our annual Professional Development Conference (PDC).

What we accomplished in 2025
Across our chapter, we saw growth in volunteer leadership, new partnerships, and collaborative programs.
Our events team was proud to share their progress in streamlining planning efforts, with a total of nine in-person events and over 200 attendees. Some highlights include our global cafés, speed mentoring events, and attending a Red Sox game. This year was crucial for laying the foundation for how we organize our events, so we can create more opportunities for our chapter community to connect across a wide range of offerings, providing a better experience overall.

Professional development events observed strong attendance. We empowered members to elevate project success through our one-day Professional Development Conference, engaging 200 members in topics surrounding innovation and evolution. We also held PM Connection meetings, Evidence-Based Roundtables, and the Women in Project Management Roundtables.

We strengthened collaboration and partnerships through our successful efforts with Northeastern, which gave way to initiatives like the AI Career Panel with Northeastern’s project management organization. Other partnerships include our volunteering with the Greater Boston Food Bank, and our work with the Community Consulting Team.

Looking ahead into 2026
With the help of our volunteers and PMI Mass Bay community, we have a strong foundation for the upcoming year. As we look to further improve our programming, strengthen collaboration across teams, and grow our membership, our board is working hard to enhance your experience as part of PMI Mass Bay in 2026.
For professional development events, we are looking to host more in-person opportunities. Currently, we have 17 in-person events planned, four bootcamps, and are already preparing for PDC 2026 next fall. Some offerings are inspired by historically popular Women in PM events, while others will focus on technology and innovation, such as artificial intelligence, which will serve as our first-ever theme of the year. In the fall, we aim to enhance this year’s conference with engaging workshops, roundtable discussions, and energizing speakers. Together, our outlook for future programming and PDC 2026 reinforces our identity as a chapter motivated by innovation.
In addition, we are working on collaborating with other colleges and universities in the Mass Bay area to bring more opportunities to students and young professionals, as we have done with Northeastern in recent months. As we align ourselves with these institutions, we are also working to improve our mentorship program in the coming months.
Our drive to keep up with emerging technology doesn’t stop at our programming. 2026 will be a crucial year to gain momentum in bringing several high-quality offerings each month to our chapter, fostering a modern identity and striving to exceed expectations.
As we rapidly approach 2026, we thank you for your continued support over the last year. We hope you will join us for an exciting and productive year with PMI Mass Bay.
