Deepti Garg
Statement of Purpose
My journey with the PMI Mass Bay Chapter began in 2017 upon earning my PMP certification, sparking a deep commitment to project management excellence. Over the years, I have actively contributed to our chapter’s growth, operational efficiency, and financial health across multiple leadership roles.
Having initially served as Assistant Vice President until 2021, I gained a comprehensive understanding of our internal operations. I then stepped into the role of Vice President of Finance. Most recently, during my 2024–2026 tenure, I successfully drove key chapter strategies, oversaw rigorous budget management, and provided data-driven insights leveraging my background in accounting and data analytics to optimize our resources.
My extensive time on the Board of Directors has deeply aligned me with our chapter’s strategic missions. I am someone who naturally questions assumptions and looks at obstacles through a fresh lens, ensuring we continuously innovate while maintaining strong fiscal discipline.
I am seeking re-election as the VP of Finance to continue leveraging this financial expertise for the benefit of our community. Moving forward, my goal is to further streamline our day-to-day operations, support sustained member growth, and foster a culture of transparent financial prudence.
I am deeply passionate about the PMI mission and dedicated to ensuring our chapter remains a beacon of excellence. I would be honored to receive your vote to continue serving and driving a positive impact.
Biographical Information
I bring over 25 years of diverse professional experience to the PMI community, spanning financial management, advanced analytics, and strategic leadership. My career began in accounting, giving me a solid foundation in fiscal responsibility, before I transitioned into business analytics and data science to drive data-driven strategic decisions.
In my current work at Galderma, I operate at the forefront of business transformation. I work closely with cutting-edge AI technologies and manage the shifting impacts of AI on modern business, seamlessly bridging the gap between internal IT projects, corporate strategies, and external vendor relations. I apply my PMP skills daily to lead cross-functional teams, solve complex problems, and deliver impactful data visualizations. Crucially, I am already actively bringing these same AI practices and innovative methodologies to our PMI chapter to help us stay ahead of industry trends.
Academically, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a master’s degree in Information Systems, and a master’s certification in Data Science. To ensure I remain at the absolute cutting edge of technological innovation, I am also currently pursuing a Post Graduate Program in AI Agents & Generative AI for Business Applications. This unique combination of fiscal acumen and deep technical expertise equips me well to support the chapter’s broad strategic initiatives.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I am an avid traveler, crafter, painter, gardener, and movie enthusiast. I am enthusiastic about leveraging my background in AI, data science, and finance to contribute effectively to the organization’s objectives and serve our community as a Director-at-Large.
Chet Lang
Statement of Purpose
I want to continue to serve on the Board of Directors because I believe PMI Mass Bay Chapter can help people grow, lead, and succeed in a rapidly changing professional world. Our chapter is more than a membership organization; it is a professional learning community where project leaders build relationships, strengthen practical skills, explore new ideas, and contribute to something larger. It has been an honor to serve on the leadership team, and I would be grateful for the opportunity to continue that work.
We are in a unique moment, and I believe our Chapter has an important role in helping people and organizations navigate the opportunities and implications of artificial intelligence. As AI reshapes how projects are planned, teams collaborate, and decisions are made, we can help professionals learn, experiment, and lead through change while elevating the uniquely human value they bring to their work.
I am especially passionate about helping project leaders recognize their influence as thought leaders within their teams and organizations. During my tenure, I hope to expand learning and career-development opportunities, deepen regional partnerships, and support emerging leaders in creating meaningful impact through curiosity, inclusion, and shared purpose.
Biographical Information
Chet Lang is a project management professional, educator, and organizational leader who currently serves as President of PMI Mass Bay Chapter. He has been part of the chapter’s leadership team for more than ten years, contributing to chapter operations, strategic planning, board governance, leadership development, member engagement, and program development.
Chet brings experience in consulting, entrepreneurship, professional learning and higher education, real estate, and public education. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Science in Project Management and Information Security from Northeastern University. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®).
Svetlana Lyons
Statement of Purpose
I am seeking re-election to the Board of Directors because I believe our volunteers are the foundation of our chapter’s success. My goal is to continue building a welcoming, engaging, and rewarding volunteer experience that empowers members to grow professionally, develop leadership skills, and make a meaningful impact on our PMI community.
If re-elected, I will continue strengthening our volunteer program by making it easier for members to get involved, supporting volunteers throughout their journey, recognizing their contributions, and ensuring every volunteer feels valued and empowered to succeed.
Together, we can continue to foster a collaborative community where volunteers not only help the chapter thrive but also gain valuable leadership experience, expand their professional networks, and contribute to the advancement of the project management profession.
Biographical Information
Ms. Lyons holds a master’s degree in social science from the Saint-Petersburg Pedagogical University. She earned her PMP in 2008 and has been a chapter member since 2009. She is a multi-skilled manager with digital marketing and project/product management experience.
She is responsible for conducting market research, developing product specifications, and creating a project timeline that’s shared with the entire development team.
Greg Paul
Statement of Purpose
I am excited to submit my candidacy to continue serving our chapter as a member of the Board of Directors. My involvement over the years has deepened my commitment to PMI’s mission to promote our profession and reinforced my belief that a successful chapter must deliver meaningful value to our members.
I have served you in several leadership roles, including Vice President of Professional Development, Vice President of Operations, and currently Executive Vice President supporting the board and Chapter Operations. In these roles, I have worked to strengthen chapter programming, execute effective in person events, and help the board serve you with purpose. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of both the big picture direction and day-to-day needs of our members.
If I am returned to the Board, I will keep your needs at the center of every decision. I enjoy meeting new members, learning about your goals, and listening to what you need to grow in project management. I believe our chapter should continually evaluate how its programming, networking, and professional development can deliver the greatest return on to you and ensure you see real value for your time invested.
Looking ahead, I want to help the board focus more energy on executing meaningful activities for members. I also want to better understand where our profession is headed so we can align curriculum and networking events with your future needs. I would be grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting the chapter as a member of the Board of Directors and helping it grow in ways that best serve our members.
Biographical Information
Greg is a dedicated project management professional, lifelong learner, and active PMI Mass Bay volunteer leader. He is a Senior Portfolio Manager at MilliporeSigma and has earned his PMP certification, and Expert Level Certification in Project Management at MilliporeSigma. Greg holds master’s degrees in Engineering and Marketing, bringing a blend of technical, business, and leadership experience to his work and volunteer service.
He has served PMI Mass Bay in multiple leadership roles, including Vice President of Professional Development, Vice President of Operations, and currently Executive Vice President supporting the board. Through these roles, he has helped strengthen chapter programming, expand in-person and networking events, support volunteer teams, and improve the chapter’s ability to deliver meaningful value to members.
During his service, Greg has worked with volunteer teams to establish longer-range planning for speakers and events, introducing Global Café and speed mentoring, along with social and networking activities. He focuses on listening to member needs, creating opportunities for members to connect, and ensuring the chapter continues to adapt to the changing field of project, program, and portfolio management.
Beyond PMI Mass Bay, Greg is committed to developing future leaders. He has coached colleagues and friends pursuing PMP certification and has served in Scouting as an Eagle Advisor and Advancement Chair, helping many Scouts progress toward Eagle rank. These experiences reflect his commitment to mentoring, service, and practical leadership development.
Greg is seeking continued service on the PMI Mass Bay Board of Directors to help the chapter operate efficiently, execute high-value activities, and keep members at the center of chapter decisions. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve and looks forward to helping PMI Mass Bay grow in ways that support members’ professional development, networking, and leadership goals.
