Preshita Gajbhiye

PMI Volunteer Position: Event Manager, Operations

PMI Volunteer Supervisor/Manager: Greg Paul, VP of Operations

A Glimpse into Preshita’s Journey

Preshitaā€™s journey with PMI Mass Bay Chapter began during her time as a Masterā€™s student in Project Management at Northeastern University. Her enthusiasm for project management and her desire to connect with industry professionals led her to join PMI as an active member. Little did she know, this decision would pave the way for a fulfilling and impactful volunteering experience.

It all started when Preshita connected with Jessica, who encouraged her to volunteer for a four-day training event hosted by PMI at the Hyatt, Boston. This event not only allowed her to immerse herself in the vibrant PMI community but also introduced her to Sanjay Patel, the VP of Membership & Volunteers. Impressed by her dedication, Sanjay invited Preshita for an interview and subsequently referred her to Greg, the VP of Operations, for the Event Manager position. After another successful interview with Greg, Preshita officially became part of the PMI Mass Bay team. While navigating these opportunities, Preshita also took on the role of a research volunteer for the ā€œResearch to Improve PMIā€™s AIā€ project, showcasing her ability to balance multiple commitments while contributing to PMIā€™s strategic initiatives. Her first hands-on experience in event management came when she co-managed a Global CafĆ© event at Lord Hobo alongside Julia Reyes. This collaboration not only honed her event planning skills but also deepened her connections within the chapter.

Building on this experience, Preshita took the lead in managing the ā€œSpeed Mentoringā€ event, held on December 5th at Polcariā€™s Woburn. From planning to execution, she orchestrated every detail of the event, ensuring its success and leaving a lasting impression on attendees and her fellow PMI members. Her ability to organize and execute events with precision and creativity has earned her recognition as a valued contributor to the PMI Mass Bay Chapter.

As we step into 2025, Preshita is excited to plan and manage even more events for the chapter, continuing to bring her passion for project management and her commitment to the PMI community to new heights. Her journey is a testament to the power of volunteering, networking, and seizing opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. PMI Mass Bay is proud to celebrate Preshita as our Volunteer of the Month, and we canā€™t wait to see the incredible contributions she will make in the future.
