Purpose of the program: To help active duty service members and veterans develop their project and program management skills and to successfully transition into civilian project and program management careers.
How can being a member of the PMI Mass Bay Chapter Help You:
• We can help you identify your skills developed in the military that are translatable to civilian jobs in project and program management.
• We can counsel you on additional skills you need to develop for a career in project and program management and identify resources to support PM skill development.
• We can help you translate your military project management experiences so that they can be used for the experiential hours needed for your application for the PMP credential examination.
• You can attend transition workshops at our chapter Career Advancement Clinics and meet with employers and recruiting firms.
• You can attend regularly scheduled centers-of-expertise meetings (Agile, Healthcare, PMO, etc.)
• You can attend any of our ten local area chapter monthly roundtable meetings.
• You can attend our monthly professional development chapter meetings and annual conference and network with other project managers and expand your professional network.
We can help you to leverage our resources and external relationships including:
• Academic (local university) relationships
• Recruiter relationships (specializing in project/program management positions)
• Corporate relationships
• You may be able to receive a discount for chapter membership through PMI’s Guest Pass program, subject to program terms and limitations.
Who is eligible: This program is available to the following groups of individuals:
• Those service members and veterans who have formally managed projects/programs in the military and have earned the PMP credential.
• Those service members and veterans who have formally managed projects/programs in the military and are interested in earning the PMP credential.
• Those service members and veterans who have not formally managed projects/programs but who have developed the requisite to do so while in the military and are interested in earning the PMP credential.
