Meet Barbara Mauro, our shining Volunteer Spotlight for the month of September! Barbara has been active with PMI Mass Bay for a year and is the Chapter’s Chief of Staff. She assists the executive team by helping to keep the chapter running smoothly across all functions.

A Glimpse into Barbara’s Journey:
Barbara’s project management journey began in Montreal, Canada. She became a PMI member in 2012, and volunteered for PMI Montreal Chapter. She then transitioned to PMI Mass Bay in 2023. As Chief of Staff, she works closely with functions to support and guide them through their project plans and deliverables for programming and other initiatives. She also works with leadership efforts to align strategic objectives to support PMI’s values and mission. Barbara majored in Political Science and she holds multiple certifications including, PMP, CSM, and ITIL.
The Rewards of Volunteering:
For Barbara, the most rewarding aspect of volunteering is knowing her advice helped someone on their journey and that her knowledge and expertise added value for them or their teams.
Getting to Know Barbara:
Hidden Talent: feeling people’s energy.
Favorite Destination: loves visiting different cities and exploring their life, culture, and cuisine.
Guilty Pleasure: She drinks her dessert so she never refuses a good Cognac, Bourbon, or Whiskey.
Passionate About: Giving back to the community and being a service provider for others. She is also a big advocate of giving back and paying it forward! She is also passionate about self-care–caring for her mind, body and soul. She loves Super Soul Sunday.
