June Chapter Meeting

Join us on Thursday, June 19, 2019, 5:30 pm at Brewer’s Tap & Table in Malden as we welcome software engineering expert, Dave Todero for his presentation “Always Ship on Time:  Agile Estimating & Planning Techniques for Your Team”.

Have you ever been asked, “How long do you think this will take?” or “When will this be done?”  You’re not alone.  Estimating software projects is very challenging, especially when faced with evolving business requirements, a hallmark of the Agile process.

Meeting attendees will receive 1 PDU (0.5 technical, 0.5 strategic).  We look forward to seeing you there!

Professional Development Programs

Professional Development Conference

The PD Conference provides the opportunity for you to learn from industry experts and local practitioners about what it takes to move ahead in your career.  This unique conference will expose you to the Emerging Trends and Agile & PM Tools. You will also have the opportunity to hear about real-world case studies and practice your skills in hands-on workshops.

The Roundtable Program provides Chapter members and other professionals the opportunity to attend an informal monthly meeting, near where you work or live, with a small group of project management peers.

Mentoring Program

Since 2010, PMI Mass Bay has provided the opportunity for members to mentor other members within a structured program. This program is a great opportunity for both mentees and mentors alike. Mentees gain valuable real-life knowledge from seasoned project managers, and mentors consistently report that they find their own skills sharpened as a result of the mentoring relationship.

Study Groups

The PMI Mass Bay Chapter provides opportunities for our members to study together for the PMI certification exams. We are always looking into new and innovative ways to facilitate group study, whether it be in-person meetings or online communities.

PM 20/30

The year 2030 is fast approaching. Are we ready for the estimated 15.7 million new project management roles that will be added globally? That includes an estimated 6.2 million jobs added in the US, with a 30% growth prediction for Healthcare alone. Many recruiters and corporate leaders are reporting that there are not enough qualified project managers in the market to fill this need.
