All kidding aside, the seasons are clearly turning, our election is past and a new board is just starting to get organized. Tips from the Study Corner: Prepping for the PMP Exam

At the core of the PMP Exam are the two basic frameworks:

  • The 5 Process Groups
  • The 9 Knowledge Areas
As such, there are many questions on the PMBOK regarding the inputs, outputs and tools/techniques of specific processes within these two frameworks. Theoretically, all you have to do is memorize the book – and you can pass the exam! Practically speaking, the material is most meaningful when put in context of PMP practice and real life experience. As the Study Group Coordinator for the Mass Bay Chapter this year, I found that most PMPs have used some variation of the following road map to prepare for the exam.
