Message from the President
The Board Goes on a Project Management Field Trip to the MBTA
http://www.pmimassbay.org
by Linda F. Desmond, PMP, President
When I attended the Region3 meeting last Spring I was impressed with the tiny Newfoundland chapter and how they held so many field trips for their members. Doing something similar has been in my thoughts since then, so when Alex Goff (Program Manager for the MBTA Greenbush project) first contacted me about a private tour, I thought “AH-this is start of something new for the chapter”. True we did have a tour of the “Big-Dig” several years ago, but we have done nothing since. As a trial, I opened the trip to the Board of Directors and plans were quickly made for a Friday, February 9th outing. Mary Harmer (Director of Membership), Diana Bishop (VP of Finance and Administration), Len McBain (Comverse Liaison), and yours truly jumped at the chance for a behind the scenes tour of this project. To be honest, I was a little skeptical of the thoughts of looking at train tracks for a couple of hours, but the day flew by.

Meets on 2nd Friday of the Month in Wellesley, MA
http://pmimassbay.org/newpage_nf3.cfm?pagename=Bre...
by Eric Goldman, Metro West roundtable leader
MASS BAY CHAPTER - ROUNDTABLE PROGRAM
Announcing a new Metro West roundtable in Wellesley, MA
WHAT IS A ROUNDTABLE?
The Roundtable Program offers Chapter members the opportunity to attend an informal monthly meeting with a small group of project management peers to:
(1) discuss current project issues and receive colleagues’ advice, feedback, and support
(2) discuss current best practices within the project management profession
(3) network with your peers
This program has been very successful in our chapter and many other PMI Chapters, because it offers members an additional opportunity to participate in Chapter activities, network, find jobs, make connections, and learn about new project management tools and techniques. It is a great benefit of local PMI Mass Bay Chapter membership.
