Call for Committees Nominations, Search for Influential Women in PM

PMI Board Other Committees now accepting nominations. Nominations are now being accepted for qualified PMI members with solid leadership skills to the following 2007 PMI Board Other Committees: Nominating Committee, Ethics Review Committee, Ethics Appeal Committee and Appointee Qualifications Subcommittee (AQS). Nominee requirements include a minimum of 10 years professional experience and a minimum of three years’ PMI membership in good standing. Nominees cannot be a current volunteer for any other PMI committee, component, project, etc., or have a conflict of interest with PMI. The PMI Mass Bay Chapter will report the results of its Annual Election of Chapter Officers during the May 18th Chapter Meeting at 6:30 PM, at the Burlington Marriott, 1 Mall Road, Burlington, Massachusetts. This year we are electing a President Elect and a Vice President of Professional Development.

March Meeting Speaker Review
Build Better Schedules with Tom Westcott

Tom Westcott’s presentation on March 16th was dynamic and realistic.  Billed as the “7 Steps to Successful Scheduling”, Tom detailed common scheduling practices and noted ways to improve accuracy. Starting with a basic problem in many organizations, the lack of team buy-in, Tom supplied ways to get over this issue.  He suggested incorporating the team into the schedule development process especially using the “cards-on-the-wall” technique. ;

Web Site Project Volunteer Orientation Meetings
An Opportunity to Volunteer and Make a Difference

The Website Replacement Project is ramping up, and the project team is looking for more volunteers to contribute to this effort. Two orientation meetings have been scheduled with different times and locations for your convenience. During these meetings the project managers, team, and new volunteers will meet face-to-face, review the project process, and discuss volunteer's interests, skills, and availability.  If you cannot attend, but are interested in participating in the web site replacement project, the project managers will be happy to e-mail you a volunteer profile form.
