President’s Letter - February 2006
PMI MassBay Chapter's Plans for 2006
by Martin Hatzadourian, PMP, President PMI Mass Bay Chapter

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

My best advice to Project Managers regarding time management for projects is to stay slightly ahead of schedule. Procrastination is the bane of successful projects. Anything that can slightly and responsibly be started earlier the designated on the schedule should be given the next most attention, right after the critical path and near critical path tasks.

Exponential Growth
by Peter de Jager

Take a look at the graph below. It’s known as the “exponential curve” and is usually used to illustrate uncontrolled population growth, the effect of compound interest on life long savings, or to hype skyrocketing prices of things like gasoline or Medicare costs.

What if I told you we can use this graph to illustrate, without an ounce of exaggeration, the membership growth of a specific Assn over the past decade?
