by Ed Horniak, PMP, for the Nominations Committee

The PMI Mass Bay Chapter Board of Directors and the 2008 Nominating Committee are pleased to announce the results of our 2008 annual election of officers.  Please join us in congratulating our two newly elected officers:

Allen Babroudi, PMP -  President-elect 2008-2009 term of office

Allen Babroudi has extensive business experience managing people and implementation of large-scale multi million dollar projects.  For the past 20 years, Allen has been working with the PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Perot Systems, EDS, and PeopleSoft organizations helping businesses to solve problems that deal with business requirements, process, organization, training and technology.

Allen joined PMI Mass Bay Chapter Board Of Directors in 2005 as a volunteer and served in various marketing positions member of PMI since 2004, and is currently the chapter’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications.   In that role, he led the chapter’s marketing programs which included: Sponsorship, Advertisement, Communication, and Student Relations, working closely with our current board and many volunteers.

Allen holds degrees from Bentley College and Harvard University.

Allen believes that volunteers play a major role in keeping PMI rejuvenated.  Our chapter volunteers are among those who spread the word about the benefits of project management.   Allen believes that a great deal of growth that the Mass Bay Chapter has experienced can be attributed in large part to our volunteers.

Goals as President-Elect

  • Support and expand our base of Chapter volunteers to keep our chapter strong and vital.
  • Expand the Chapter’s outreach through a renewed Corporate Relations program and by providing information and opportunities for the chapter and individuals to with our corporate community.
  • Work with the Board of Directors to strengthen our chapter by creating interesting and practical programs for our members that expand our vision.
  • Communicate directly with our members to understand their needs.
Tracey Chalifour, PMP -  Vice President of Professional Development 2008-2009 term of office

Tracey Chalifour has close to ten years of Project Management experience in technology, non-profit and healthcare industry.  She is currently working for a major health-care provider in the Boston area managing large scale fundraising events.

A member of PMI since 2003, Tracey is currently the chapter’s Director of Education.  Working closely with the current Vice President of Professional Development for the Mass Bay Chapter, she has successfully coordinated the delivery and implementation of PMP test preparation classes and educational seminars over the past year.

Tracey also serves as the President of her Homeowner’s Association, and is active in the Coastal Trails Coalition along with other non-profit entities north of Boston.

She has two Bachelors degrees from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and received her PMP credentials in 2004.

VP of Professional Development goals:

  • Provide chapter members with tools and resources to assist with project management skills development and career advancement.
  • Offer cost effective and relevant courses and training to assist members in being “best-in-class” project managers for minimal expense.

The election of officers was conducted via electronic voting using LimeSurvey, an independent vendor of secure online voting and survey applications.  An invitation to vote, plus the election ballot URL link, was sent via e-mail to each Mass Bay Chapter member-of-record on April 1, 2008 if the member included a current e-mail address on their PMI Membership file. The web ballot voting was open 24/7 from April 1 through May 1, 2007 resulting in a substantial increase in member voting participation.

Congratulations again to Allen and Tracey, our newest elected chapter officers.

Best regards,
