Two PMP
study group forums are formed within the Chapter. These groups are both
facilitated by studying members, who are enthusiastically preparing for the PMP
certification exam.
Some of
the benefits of study groups are: 1) create some structure for studying, 2)
help motivate and focus with a target exam date in mind, 3) generate discussion
and life experiences to bring the PMBOK material to life, 4) network with
Chapter members who are going through the same rigorous preparations as you.
The two
groups have different agendas and approaches:
Tele-Study was recently established as a
weekly telephone study session. Members select a topic to study for the week. Each
participant prepare a list of study discussion points and/or questions to
submit in advance of the session and posted to a secure shared website. This
material is the basis for a focused review and discussion. After five weeks,
this group is going strong and is open to new members. Meetings are held on Wednesdays
7:00 - 8:00 PM
Fast-Track Study Group has a goal to complete a comprehensive review of the PMBOK and
review key material and study questions over 12 weeks. Each week the will focus
on a different knowledge area. In the final two weeks, the team would take a
sample test of 200 questions and then review/discuss questions that were most
challenging. Time investment: 4-5 hours per week for 12 weeks. The payback: readiness
to sit for the exam by June. This group is starting up soon and is envisioned
to be a small, focused group (3-6 participants).

Dinner with Diane: If you are studying for the PMP –
or just beginning to entertain the idea, join Diane for dinner at an upcoming
Chapter meeting. Diane hosts a table each month to bring studying members
together to network and share study tips and techniques. If interested, contact
