Summary:

Projects are the engines that drive innovation.  Since many companies still focus on operational excellence and efficiency, most projects fail--largely because conventional project management concepts cannot adapt to a dynamic business environment. Moreover, top managers neglect their company's project activity, and line managers treat all their projects alike--as part of operations. Based on an unprecedented study of more than 600 projects in a variety of businesses and organizations around the globe, "Reinventing Project Management" provides a new and highly adaptive model for planning and managing projects to achieve superior business results.

Our Speaker:

AuthorPrior to his academic career, Araron Shenhar was an executive in a high-tech environment. He has been involved in managing projects, innovation, R&D, and high technology businesses for almost 20 years. Working for the Israel defense industry, he participated in all phases of engineering and management -- from project manager up through the highest executive posts. As executive at Rafael, the Armament Development Authority of Israel, he was appointed Corporate Vice President, Human Resources, and later, President of the Electronic Systems Division, leading over 1000 engineers and scientists.
