The economy may be showing signs of a recovery, but securing a job is still extremely challenging. Whether you’re actively seeking employment, interested in crossing over to a new industry, or just curious, join your PMI colleagues at the 2004 Career Day on a Saturday morning (date TBD) in May!
This year’s event builds upon the success of the Chapter’s two previous Career events and responds to the feedback we received from last year’s Career Night by offering an expanded format. You’ll hear from speakers representing major industries who will discuss the general employment market, explain what’s involved in switching industries, and present industry-specific information, such as:
• The current and projected growth rates of their industries;
• The project management role and skill requirements in their industries;
• The outlook for project management jobs in their industries; and
• How to find opportunities and obtain positions in their industries.
This year’s event offers a new twist. Career Day 2004 will include a modest career fair at which you can speak with representatives from companies that are experiencing growth. We will also invite several pre-screened recruiters who have a track record of placing PM’s. In addition, there will be ample time for networking.
