This seminar is an in-depth exploration of what is required when one scales a small Agile project to a large complex project or program. The basic values of delivering value early, transparency and team empowerment remain important but are more difficult to realize with the complexity accompanying the increase in scale. Larger projects frequently introduce multiple geographic team locations and technical interdependencies which must be managed.
By using tools like a Scrum of Scrums, Meta Scrums, normalized story sizing, and program backlogs, teams can manage the increased complexity and continue to deliver business value in an iterative fashion. Participants will walk through the process of organizing the work products for a complex project, sizing the work and aligning it into a release plan spanning multiple teams. The class will conclude with a discussion of adoption patterns discussion roll out strategies for new programs, as well as the integration of Agile teams into established environments.
