The PMI Mass Bay chapter is committed to advancing the profession of project management in the Greater Boston area. We strive to help businesses realize the vision behind the PMI motto, "Making project management indispensable for business results."
The Corporate & Academic Relations Committee is chartered to share with businesses the features and benefits derived from the practice of project management and to be an advocate in promoting the services and resources available from PMI and from the chapter. Our mission includes:
- Building win/win relationships with local businesses
- Educating businesses on the value of project management
- Encouraging firms to utilize project management tools and techniques
- Offering speakers at no charge for visiting speaking engagements consistent with our mission
The academic component of corporate relations is an effort to reach out to and partner with academia in the exchange of project management knowledge gained academically and experientially. We can assist colleges and universities in developing their project management courses and programs. Additionally, we can fulfill the role of liaison to institutions interested in becoming a Registered Educational Provider (R.E.P) of the Project Management Institute. For colleges desiring to offer project management courses that are credited by PMI, we can help guide you in working with PMI's Global Accreditation Center for Project Management (GAC).
Finally, for colleges that currently teach project management, we can work with you to expose courses and programs to our chapter members for those who desire to gain PDU credits through formal course offerings.
The PMI Mass Bay Chapter is very interested in establishing and building working relationships with fellow PMI chapters, like minded business associations, as well as local Chamber of Commerce. We understand the value that can be gained from learning from each other's organization and the show of support it represents to our respective membership. Although our organizations may specialize in the advancement of a particular business profession, as fellow business associates, we can all learn from each other.
